WHAT MAKES SAM SPECIAL

ORIGIN & BACKGROUND

Sam is a color realism and surrealism artist from Northern Ireland. He went straight from school into a tattoo apprenticeship and has been tattooing professionally for over 11 years. Outside of tattooing, he’s spent years painting, drawing with coloured pencils, airbrushing, and even painting large murals around his hometown. All of that fine art experience shows up in the way he uses color, light, and composition on skin.

TRAINING & ACCOLADES

Sam has invested heavily in his craft, studying in person with artists like Rich Harris, Freddie Albrighton, and JamieLee Knot, and learning from multiple online seminars with top‑tier realism artists. Before joining Eden, he flew to the US twice to take a private, 1:1 seminar with Deanna, as well as her 5-day in person workshop for advanced tattoo artists.

Sam has won numerous convention and magazine awards for color, surrealism, and realism, including multiple “Best of Show” and “Best Color” trophies across the UK and Ireland.

Working with Sam means you’re working with someone who is constantly leveling up, not just repeating the same tattoo over and over.

PHILOSOPHY AND CLIENT EXERIENCE

Sam treats every tattoo like it’s going on his own body. He’ll ask for plenty of information and references, but he’s not afraid to tell you when something won’t age well or will weaken the design. He typically creates rough concepts first, gets you aligned on the direction, then builds a fully finished design in the days leading up to your appointment so you get maximum tattoo time on the day.
